Case 1: Super b-Doubles

One super B-double is equivalent to 1.17 B-doubles, offering 42 pallet spaces compared to 36. For a major national client, reducing carbon emissions was a key priority. By optimizing schedules, product lines, and trailer configurations, we successfully decreased the equivalent of 53 B-double loads over a 12-month period. This led to fewer trips and reduced kilometres traveled, resulting in a significant decrease in CO₂ emissions. In achieving this, we not only helped our client meet their emissions targets but also made a positive contribution to the environment.

Case 2: B-Triples

One B-triple replaces 1.4 B-doubles, providing 50 pallet spaces against 36. Through effective schedule optimisation, we were able to reduce the equivalent of 156 B-double loads in the same 12-month timeframe, lowering transportation costs. At Stef’s Transport, we work closely with our partners, analysing their needs to optimise trailer configurations, allowing us to transport more products at a reduced overall cost. Demonstrating our commitment to industry improvement, CEO Stefan Pulmer lobbied regulators and government entities, resulting in Stef’s Transport successfully gaining approval for uninterrupted road access between South Australia and Queensland for 4.6m high B-triple combinations.

CASE 3: Contract Performance

By supplying our client with comprehensive data on contract performance—including delays, cancellations, non-accepted loads, as well as delivery arrival and unload times by lane and destination — we significantly enhanced customer service levels and improved the bottom line. These performance metrics were complemented with data analysis from our transport management system, enabling us to optimise linehaul schedules and ensure that our partners’ products reached final destinations more efficiently than our competitors had previously.
